Kazakh Service Officers Successfully Graduate from French Language Course for UN Peacekeeping Missions

Seven service officers from Kazakhstan’s armed forces have successfully completed a three-month French language course conducted by the Center for Peacekeeping Operations of the Kazakh Ministry of Defense (KAZCENT). The course, which concluded on June 25, aimed to equip military personnel with the necessary language skills for UN peacekeeping missions in French-speaking countries.

The collaborative effort between the defense departments of Kazakhstan and France focused on training the participants in French language proficiency corresponding to the “DELF-B1” level. In addition to grammar, written and conversational skills, the service officers were introduced to the activities of UN peacekeeping missions and specialized military terminology.

The program included intensive classes, self-study sessions, and field exercises to enhance oral communication skills. Educational materials were provided by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Francophonie international organization. The participants underwent a final exam administered by the French Alliance in Almaty and received diplomas upon successful completion of the course.

This initiative underscores Kazakhstan’s commitment to preparing its military personnel for international peacekeeping efforts and promoting multilateral cooperation with France in the defense sector. The successful completion of the French language course will undoubtedly enhance the service officers’ efficiency and effectiveness in future UN peacekeeping missions.
