Kazakh Surgeons Showcase Live-Stream Surgery at Indian International Conference

Astana – Kazakhstan’s University Medical Center (UMC) made waves in the medical world by performing a groundbreaking operation in live-case online mode as part of the National Interventional Conference (NIC) held in India from July 5-7.

Specialists at the UMC Heart Center successfully implanted an innovative bifurcation stent in a patient with atherosclerosis of the coronary artery, showcasing the latest advancements in interventional cardiology. This stent is designed to restore blood flow effectively and safely in arteries that split into two branches.

The live case procedure was one of 20 online demonstrations presented during the conference, which attracted over 12,000 participants and focused on innovations in percutaneous coronary interventions, patient care, and technology safety. The event also featured practical training sessions, symposiums on structural cardiovascular diseases, debates, and lectures on complications and advancements in the field.

Notably, the conference saw participation from over 1,000 attendees, including foreign specialists from countries such as the United States, Germany, Japan, Canada, Turkey, and Spain. This international collaboration has been further strengthened by UMC Heart Center specialists conducting training sessions in India and hosting interventional cardiologists from various parts of the country.

The ongoing partnership between Kazakhstan and India signifies a promising future for the exchange of medical knowledge and the improvement of patient care. As UMC continues to push boundaries in the field of interventional cardiology, the impact of their work is felt on a global scale.
