Kazakhstan Advocates for Turkic Integration Before OTS Summit

ASTANA – Preliminary results of Kazakhstan’s chairmanship of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) for 2023-2024 were discussed at a recent meeting between OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliyev and Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu. The meeting also focused on preparations for the upcoming OTS summit in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Under the TURKTIME motto, which stands for Traditions, Unification, Reforms, Knowledge, Trust, Investments, Mediation, and Energy, Kazakhstan has been working towards enhancing Turkic integration and improving the well-being of Turkic peoples. Nurtleu emphasized the importance of strengthening fraternal ties and ensuring regional stability through Kazakhstan’s chairmanship of the organization.

During Kazakhstan’s leadership, more than 80 events were organized in 30 different areas, with the fifth World Nomad Games being a standout event held in Astana. Omuraliyev highlighted the significant international presence at the Games, showcasing a growing interest in Turkic nomadic culture.

The meeting between Omuraliyev and Nurtleu also involved discussions on pressing issues concerning Turkic cooperation and strategies to further enhance collaboration among OTS member states. Kazakhstan’s commitment to promoting Turkic integration and fostering strong ties among Turkic nations remains steadfast as preparations for the OTS summit continue in the Kyrgyz Republic.
