Kazakh President Tokayev Meets with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Kulubaev
In a significant display of strengthening ties between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev recently welcomed Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev for his first official visit to Kazakhstan on Jan. 10.
During their meeting, President Tokayev expressed his satisfaction with the dynamic development of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz relations of strategic partnership and alliance, which are based on strong ties of friendship and good-neighborliness.
According to the Akorda, President Tokayev emphasized the importance of fully implementing strategic agreements reached at the highest level to significantly enhance the interstate ties between the two nations.
The discussions between Kulubaev and Tokayev focused on efforts to increase trade and economic cooperation, expand transportation and logistics infrastructure, encourage mutual investment, and strengthen cultural and humanitarian links.
Additionally, Kulubaev also met with Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu to further discuss a wide range of bilateral cooperation topics, including political, trade, and economic, investment, water and energy, transit and transportation, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Both officials expressed their mutual commitment to strengthening the relationship based on friendship, fraternity, and good neighborliness. Nurtleu emphasized the deep allied relations between the two nations, highlighting the centuries-old friendship, spiritual values, and Turkic roots shared by Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
The meeting also underscored the importance of expanding economic cooperation, with a focus on increasing bilateral trade turnover and launching joint projects in energy, transport, logistics, and other key sectors.
Cultural and humanitarian ties were also highlighted during the discussions, with plans for various cultural events and educational programs to further strengthen the bond between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
