Kazakhstan Applauds Ceasefire Between Israel and Hamas

Kazakhstan hails Israel-Hamas ceasefire, calls for lasting peace
ASTANA – Kazakhstan has expressed its support for the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which officially took effect on Jan. 19, as reported by Kazinform. Kazakh Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Aibek Smadiyarov welcomed the mediation efforts led by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States, calling it a crucial step in ending the violence, releasing hostages, and facilitating humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
“We highly appreciate the mediation efforts undertaken by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States. This is an important step that will help stop the violence, free hostages, and increase humanitarian aid supplies to the Gaza Strip, which is extremely necessary in the current situation. Kazakhstan always stands for peace and stability, and we sincerely hope that these agreements will become the basis for further steps towards a long-term resolution to the conflict,” Smadiyarov stated.
Kazakhstan has consistently supported the resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on international law principles, advocating for a two-state solution where both Palestinians and Israelis can coexist in peace and security. The recent exchange of hostages and prisoners between the two sides marks a significant development after 15 months of tension and uncertainty.
Following the ceasefire agreement, hundreds of displaced individuals have started returning to their homes in Gaza, and convoys of humanitarian aid have entered the territory to provide much-needed assistance to the affected population. Kazakhstan remains committed to supporting international efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace in the region.
As the ceasefire holds and efforts for reconciliation continue, Kazakhstan stands ready to contribute to the peace process and reaffirms its commitment to promoting stability and security in the Middle East.
