Kazakhstan-China Rail Service Enhances European Trade Connectivity

ASTANA – KTZ Express, a subsidiary of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) railway company, has recently partnered with China Railway Container Transport (CRCT) to launch a new container rail service connecting China and Europe. The press service of KTZ announced this collaboration on March 3.

The inaugural container train, carrying television components, departed from Chengdu, China, and is en route to Lodz, Poland. The train will pass through Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran, and Turkey, ensuring seamless cargo delivery and enhancing connectivity among these countries. It is estimated that the journey will take between 52 to 60 days.

This new rail service not only increases the transportation capacity of the region but also makes international logistics more flexible, quicker, and more reliable. The introduction of this service highlights Kazakhstan’s strategic importance as a vital transit point and solidifies its position in global cargo transportation.

The partnership between KTZ Express and CRCT is set to bring significant benefits to the freight transport sector and further strengthen ties between China and Europe through efficient rail connectivity.
