Kazakhstan Introduces New Visa Categories for Skilled Professionals, Entrepreneurs, and Remote Workers
Kazakhstan has recently launched three new visa categories to attract skilled professionals, entrepreneurs, and remote workers looking for long-term opportunities in the country. The new visas include the Neo Nomad Visa (B12-1), the Digital Nomad Visa (B9-1), and the Visa for Permanent Residence (B9).
The Neo Nomad Visa (B12-1) targets professionals and digital entrepreneurs who wish to live and work remotely in Kazakhstan while earning income from abroad. This multiple-entry visa is valid for up to one year and can be extended for an additional year. Family members can also apply for visas under this category, although work and religious activities are restricted.
The Digital Nomad Visa (B9-1) is catered towards IT professionals seeking permanent residence in Kazakhstan. It offers a single-entry electronic visa valid for one year, as well as a multiple-entry paper visa that can be obtained through the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Applicants must obtain a petition from Astana Hub or an authorized IT sector body to apply for this visa.
The Visa for Permanent Residence (B9) is designed for professionals in high-demand fields such as medicine, science, innovation, education, and the creative industries. It includes a single-entry visa valid for 90 days and a multiple-entry visa issued annually. Professionals can transition to permanent residency and integrate into the job market once in Kazakhstan.
With its strategic location, strong economic growth, and business-friendly policies, Kazakhstan aims to position itself as a global talent and innovation hub. These new visa categories are expected to attract a diverse range of skilled individuals to contribute to the country’s development and growth.
