Kazakhstan IT Services Exports Expected to Hit $700 Million by 2024

Kazakhstan’s IT Service Exports Reach $471 Million in 2023, Expected to Grow in 2024
Astana, Kazakhstan – Kazakhstan’s Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, Zhaslan Madiyev, announced during a recent government meeting that the country exported IT services worth $471 million in the period of January to September last year. This marked a 26% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Madiyev also shared that the Ministry’s forecasts suggest that IT services exports could reach $700 million in 2024.
One of the key contributors to Kazakhstan’s growing IT exports is the Astana Hub, the country’s international technology park. Madiyev emphasized the role of Astana Hub in promoting Kazakhstan’s IT exports, noting that the park is home to over 1,500 companies, including 400 international ones. In 2024, the revenue generated by these companies amounted to 620 billion tenge (US$1.2 billion), with exports contributing 227 billion tenge ($430 million).
Astana Hub residents have been successful in exporting their products to more than 90 countries. Additionally, GovTech products developed by National Information Technologies JSC, such as Smart Data Ukimet, Smart Bridge platforms, and the EPIR website builder, were exported for the first time, further diversifying Kazakhstan’s IT exports.
In line with the country’s strategic goals, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized in 2023 the importance of boosting Kazakhstan’s IT services exports to $1 billion by 2026. With the continued growth and success of the IT sector in Kazakhstan, achieving this target seems feasible and promising for the country’s digital economy.
