Kazakhstan’s Military Personnel Studying Abroad to Enhance Defense and Security
ASTANA – More than 600 Kazakhstan’s military personnel are currently enrolled in various foreign institutions across 12 countries, as announced by Murat Olzhabayev, head of the Military Education and Science Department of the Defense Ministry. This initiative aims to provide the country’s armed forces with specialized training and expertise not available in domestic military educational institutions.
The selected countries where Kazakhstan’s military personnel are studying include Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, India, Italy, China, Pakistan, Russia, the United States, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, and South Korea. The candidates for these programs are chosen based on the specific needs of Kazakhstan’s Armed Forces, with a focus on acquiring skills and knowledge in areas crucial for defense and security.
Olzhabayev highlighted the significance of training abroad in mastering modern military techniques and understanding international standards in defense and security. Collaborative training with international partners such as the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), NATO, China, and neighboring Central Asian countries plays a crucial role in strengthening Kazakhstan’s diplomatic and military relations. This cooperation enhances mutual understanding and coordination for joint operations and peacekeeping missions.
