Kazakh Minister Highlights Country’s Role in Global Mining Sector at PDAC-2024 Conference
Kazakh Minister of Industry and Construction Kanat Sharlapaev recently participated in the opening of the country’s national pavilion at the 2024 Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) International Convention in Toronto. The event, which took place on March 4, brought together experts, investors, and mining industry representatives from around the world.
During the opening ceremony, Minister Sharlapayev emphasized the strategic importance of Kazakhstan’s presence at PDAC-2024, highlighting the country’s commitment to integrating into the global geological community and attracting foreign investments into its domestic mining sector. This marks Kazakhstan’s second consecutive year participating in the prestigious conference.
The Kazakh national pavilion showcased the leading achievements and projects of top companies in the country, such as ERG, Tau-Ken Samruk, Kazakhmys, GreyWolf, and KazakhGeology. The exhibition highlighted Kazakhstan’s innovative potential and opportunities in the mining industry, underscoring the country’s openness to international collaboration and adoption of new technologies.
Minister Sharlapayev also underscored the significance of Kazakhstan’s participation in PDAC-2024 in the context of the Geological Industry Development Concept for 2023-2027. He expressed readiness to expand bilateral and multilateral partnerships in the geological sector, further solidifying Kazakhstan’s position in the global mining industry.
