Kazakhstan Shines at 2025 Asian Games in Harbin with Impressive Ice Achievements
As the 2025 Asian Games in Harbin come to a close on Feb. 14, Kazakhstan is celebrating remarkable success on the ice. The country’s men’s hockey team clinched the gold medal by defeating Japan 5-0 in the final match. Additionally, the women’s hockey team made history by securing a silver medal. Figure skater Mikhail Shaidorov also brought home a bronze medal in men’s figure skating, as reported by the National Olympic Committee’s press service.
On Feb. 13, 20-year-old Mikhail Shaidorov, the leader of Kazakhstan’s men’s figure skating team, showcased a new program despite battling an illness and a slight fever. Despite facing a few initial missteps, Shaidorov demonstrated resilience and determination by delivering a strong performance that earned him third place and the bronze medal.
Reflecting on his performance, Shaidorov shared, “Today was quite a tough day, but in the end, I was pleased with my performance. I haven’t skated with such content yet, and the scores seem to be normal.”
The official closing ceremony of the 2025 Asian Games is scheduled to take place at 5 p.m. Astana time. Kazakhstan’s impressive achievements on the ice have garnered praise and recognition, showcasing the talent and dedication of the country’s athletes.
