Kazakh Agriculture Minister Holds Talks with Turkish Business Leaders to Develop Agro-Projects
ASTANA — Kazakhstan’s Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov recently met with leaders of eight Turkish businesses who are interested in investing in various agricultural projects in Kazakhstan. The discussions focused on developing projects to process grain and legumes, produce cattle hides, manufacture ice cream, and localize the production of agricultural equipment.
According to the Agriculture Ministry’s press service, companies interested in deep processing of grain legumes see great potential in Kazakhstan for producing high-value products like amino acids, lysine, gluten, and other in-demand items. This presents an opportunity for collaboration between Kazakh and Turkish firms to tap into local and international markets.
Ice cream producers expressed their interest in utilizing Kazakhstan’s strategic location to access nearby markets such as Russia and China. They believe Kazakh products can be well-received in these regions, offering growth opportunities for the ice cream industry.
Hide processing companies also see Kazakhstan as a favorable market due to the availability of raw materials, production resources, and access to sales markets. The focus will be on producing gelatin and raw hides to meet the demand for these products.
Minister Saparov highlighted the importance of implementing gelatin production projects to utilize the hides effectively. He mentioned that Kazakhstan offers attractive conditions for investors, including investment cost reimbursement rules, tax incentives, and other support measures. Turkish businessmen also stressed the need for subsidizing logistics to enhance agricultural exports to various regions.
