Kazakhstan Shines at 2024 IWF World Weightlifting Championships
Kazakhstan displayed an impressive performance at the 2024 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Weightlifting Championships, held in Manama, Bahrain from Dec. 6 to 15. The Kazakh athletes secured a third-place finish overall, trailing behind powerhouse countries North Korea (DPRK) and China.
The team brought home one silver and two gold medals, showcasing their strength and skill on the world stage. Alexey Churkin clinched the silver medal in the weight category up to 81 kilograms, with a total lift of 368 kilograms (164 + 204). Nurgissa Adiletuly claimed gold in the 96-kilogram weight category, lifting a total of 388 kilograms (174 + 214). Artyom Antropov dominated the 102-kilogram weight category, lifting an impressive 400 kilograms – 170 kilograms in the snatch and 230 kilograms in the clean and jerk.
The National Olympic Committee praised the athletes for their outstanding performances and dedication to the sport. The success at the World Weightlifting Championships is a testament to the hard work and training of the Kazakh weightlifters.
