Kazakhstan Introduces Digital Nomad Residency Program for Foreign IT Professionals
Astana – Kazakhstan has recently launched the Digital Nomad Residency program, aimed at welcoming foreign IT professionals to work and live permanently in the country. The Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry announced this exciting initiative on March 3rd.
This pilot project offers a simplified pathway to obtaining permanent residency (PRP) in Kazakhstan. To apply for the Digital Nomad Residency, applicants must first acquire a Kazakh Individual Identification Number (IIN) and an Electronic Digital Signature (EDS). The application process takes place through the Astana Hub portal.
Interested individuals are required to submit various documents, including a copy of their passport, resume, portfolio, motivation letter, criminal record certificate, and a color photo sized 3.5×4.5 cm. Once these documents are reviewed and approved, the ministry issues a petition verifying the applicant’s IT specialist status. Subsequently, the applicant can apply for preliminary PRP approval through the eGov.kz portal.
