Kazakhstan’s Population Tops 20 Million
The latest data from the Bureau of National Statistics in Kazakhstan has revealed that the country’s population has reached 20,201,849 as of September 1st. This marks an increase of over 168,000 people since the beginning of the year.
The statistics show that urban areas experienced a significant increase in population, with 173,171 more people now living in cities. This brings the total urban population to over 12.68 million. In contrast, the rural population saw a slight decline of 5,164 individuals, approaching 7.5 million.
These findings highlight the ongoing trend of urbanization in Kazakhstan, where city populations are steadily growing while rural populations are decreasing. This shift towards urban areas could have significant implications for the country’s development and infrastructure planning in the future.
