Kazakhstan Ranks 31st in Coursera Global Skills Report 2023
Kazakhstan has been ranked 31st in the recently released Coursera Global Skills Report 2023. The report analyzes the business, technology, and data science skills of over 124 million registered learners from 100 countries around the world. These 100 countries represent more than 90% of Coursera’s international educational platform users.
According to the report, students in Kazakhstan achieved a skill proficiency rate of 96% in technology, 58% in data science, and 14% in business. This is a notable accomplishment for the country’s learners, highlighting their dedication and commitment to acquiring valuable skills in these fields.
Taking a closer look at the report’s findings, Switzerland, Spain, and Germany emerged as the top three countries in terms of skill proficiency. On the other end of the spectrum, Nigeria ranked at the bottom of the rating. These rankings showcase the varying levels of skill development across different countries.
Coursera, with its extensive database comprising over 120 million learners, 7,000 institutions, and 5,400 courses from top universities and industry partners worldwide, is in a unique position to identify and measure skill trends. The platform’s vast data sets enable the identification of global skill trends and provide valuable insights into the evolving needs of learners.
In a recent interview with the Astana Times, Coursera CEO Jeff Maggioncalda discussed Kazakhstan’s user preferences for online courses. The insights gained from this interview shed light on the specific areas of interest and learning preferences of Kazakhstani learners.
It is worth noting that Kazakhstan’s Center for Human Resources Development, responsible for the Skills Enbek platform and Coursera, signed a strategic partnership memorandum in September last year. This partnership aims to foster the development of online education in Kazakhstan and further enhance access to high-quality learning resources for its citizens.
