Recent data from aviation analytics website Cirium indicates a surge in travel from China to Kazakhstan, outpacing the growth seen in countries like Singapore and Malaysia. The weakening of currencies in South Korea and Japan against the yuan has already led to a rise in Chinese tourists visiting these countries. Additionally, Southeast Asian nations offering visa-free entry and affordable travel options, such as Malaysia and Thailand, continue to attract visitors from China.
Other countries expected to see an increase in Chinese tourist arrivals include Türkiye, Hungary, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Saudi Arabia, the Kyrgyz Republic, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan. This trend is a positive sign for the global tourism industry, which is striving to recover from the impact of the pandemic. Trip.com Group Ltd. predicts that outbound travel from China will double this year, with a significant uptick in family holiday bookings.
Despite not yet reaching pre-pandemic levels, Asian destinations are projected to recover to nearly 80% of their previous visitor numbers this summer. The appeal of Kazakhstan and other Asian countries is further enhanced by their visa-free policies and close proximity, making them ideal choices for both short-term getaways and extended vacations.
