Kazakh boxer Sanzhar Tashkenbay recently won gold in the 48-kilogram weight category at the International Boxing Association (IBA) Men’s World Boxing Championships held in Tashkent on May 13. Tashkenbay, who is just 19 years old, defeated Sakhil Alakhverdovi of Georgia with a score of 5:0.
Tashkenbay is the reigning Asian champion and has previously won gold medals at the Youth World Championships and Youth Asian Championships, both in the flyweight category. His latest victory adds to his impressive track record and cements his status as one of Kazakhstan’s brightest boxing talents.
