Kazakhstan’s Significant Contribution to SCO Budget
Kazakhstan Adjusts Contribution to SCO Budget, Signs Protocol for Future Implementation
Kazakhstan has made a significant adjustment to its contribution to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) budget. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree on Oct. 15, which will see Kazakhstan’s share decrease from 16.4% to 15.2%. The new percentages were determined in the decree, with China and Russia holding the largest shares of 17.6% each.
The decree also outlined the contributions of other SCO member states, with Belarus, India, Iran, the Kyrgyz Republic, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan all having specific percentages allocated to them. Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov will represent Kazakhstan in signing the protocol, which is set to be provisionally applied from Jan. 1, 2025.
In a recent meeting in Islamabad, the heads of government of the SCO member states signed eight documents, including the decision on the Concept of Development of the New Economic Dialogue. This move further solidifies the cooperation and camaraderie among the member states, paving the way for future collaboration and development within the SCO.
