Kazakhstan’s Yerzhan Maksim Triumphs in Sanremo Best Song 2025 Contest
Yerzhan Maksim, a 17-year-old singer from Uralsk in western Kazakhstan, emerged victorious at the prestigious Sanremo Best Song 2025 contest held in Dubai from Jan. 4-11. The talented young artist astounded the audience with his powerful vocals and stage presence, ultimately clinching the grand prix at the international singing competition.
Maksim took to his Instagram account to express his gratitude and excitement following his win. “It was an honor for me to win the international singing competition. With a special feeling, I bow my head to the Kazakh people, who continue to appreciate my work and support me,” he shared on Jan. 9.
This is not the first time Maksim has achieved success on the global stage. In 2019, he made waves as a finalist in the Junior Eurovision International Song Contest. Building on this momentum, he went on to win the grand prix at the WAF Contest in Skopje, Macedonia in 2023, solidifying his reputation as a rising star in the music industry.
The young Kazakh singer dedicated his latest victory to his family, teachers, and friends, highlighting the unwavering support and encouragement he has received throughout his musical journey.
