KazPost partners with China’s YTO Express Group to Construct International Warehouse in Almaty
KazPost and YTO Express Group to Open High-Tech Warehouse in Almaty
KazPost CEO Assel Zhanassova announced plans to establish a state-of-the-art Class A warehouse in Almaty in collaboration with China’s YTO Express Group. The warehouse, spanning an impressive 40,000 square meters, is expected to serve as a crucial transit hub in Eurasia, enhancing Kazakhstan’s connectivity along key routes linking China to the European Union, the Eurasian Economic Union, and Central Asia.
YTO Express Group, one of the top five express delivery companies in China, is renowned for its global logistics network, international air routes, and presence in developed countries such as Australia, Japan, South Korea, and the United States. This partnership marks YTO Express Group’s entry into the Central Asian market, highlighting the region’s strategic importance in the company’s expansion plans.
Adil Kaukenov, a leading expert on China in Kazakhstan, emphasized the significance of this partnership for both parties. He highlighted KazPost’s substantial contribution to the national economy, with tax and duty payments amounting to 32.7 billion tenge (US$74.2 million). Zhanassova also reported a significant increase in parcel volumes and an improvement in domestic delivery speeds, resulting in the company’s first profit in five years.
During a meeting with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Zhanassova provided an overview of KazPost’s current infrastructure and branch network nationwide. President Tokayev commended the company’s progress and directed efforts towards further financial recovery and enhancing logistics capabilities. This collaboration between KazPost and YTO Express Group is expected to further strengthen Kazakhstan’s position as a key player in the region’s logistics and transportation industry.
