Kenyan Flood Victim Rescued by Helicopter

Elephant Welfare NGO Rescues Tanker Driver Trapped in Kenya Floods
The Sheldrick Wildlife Foundation (SWT), an NGO dedicated to the welfare of elephants in Kenya, recently rescued a tanker driver who was trapped on top of his vehicle for six hours due to flooding. The incident occurred when the tanker was caught in the flood waters caused by the sudden overflow of the Galana-Kulalu pass in Kenya.
Following the report of the incident, the SWT helicopter was dispatched to the scene and was able to rescue the driver who was stranded on top of the tanker. The entire rescue operation was captured on camera.
In a statement concerning the incident, SWT warned people to be cautious of flooding, stating, “During the rainy season, flooding is a constant threat and it is often impossible to predict when or how quickly water levels will rise.”
The incident demonstrates the severity of the flooding problem in Kenya and the importance of being prepared for potential natural disasters. The work of organizations like the Sheldrick Wildlife Foundation is needed now more than ever to protect wildlife and help those in need during times of crisis.
