Key States Begin Voting in USA Presidential Election
Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are locked in a tight race in seven crucial states that will determine the outcome of the election, with less than three weeks left until November 5. Both candidates are expected to focus on these states in the final stretch of the campaign, with their campaigns flooding television and online platforms with advertisements.
Early voting has already begun in several states, including swing states like Georgia and North Carolina, with over 10 million votes already cast through the postal system and early voting.
One of the key battleground states that both candidates are focusing on is Michigan, which is part of the so-called “blue wall” states along with Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. These states have traditionally been won by the Democratic Party since 1992. Although Trump managed to win these states in 2016, Biden was able to reclaim them in 2020. Trump recently made derogatory remarks about Detroit, a city in Michigan, which has caused some backlash.
Michigan holds 15 Electoral College votes, which could be decisive in the election. Trump and Harris are competing fiercely for various voter groups in Michigan, with both candidates launching verbal attacks against each other. Trump recently labeled Harris as a Marxist and questioned her intelligence, while Harris accused Trump supporters of distorting reality regarding the Capitol raid on January 6.
Polls show a narrow lead for either Harris or Trump in Michigan and other key swing states, causing concern among Democrats. The difference in votes between Trump and Biden in Michigan was minimal in the last election, with Biden winning by 15,000 votes. Harris has adjusted her campaign strategy to appeal to a broader spectrum of voters, including Republicans and male voters of all races.
As the election date approaches, the race between Trump and Harris is heating up, with both candidates intensifying their efforts to secure these crucial states. The outcome of the election remains uncertain, with polls showing a very close race between the two candidates.
