Khalk Maslakhaty Chairman Offers Recommendations
The Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, recently visited the construction site of the new Motor Sports Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan. This visit follows the National Leader’s proposal to move the complex to a new location due to its proximity to residential buildings.
During the inspection, Berdimuhamedov reviewed three project options for the new center, which will feature two functional zones focused on training and competitions. Symbolic emblems such as an Akhal-Teke horse and a Turkmen Alabai will be incorporated into the architectural design.
Spanning 71 hectares and located 40 kilometers from Ashgabat, the new motorsport center is expected to elevate the development of motor sports in Turkmenistan. The Chairman emphasized the importance of modernizing the center’s facilities, enhancing athlete skills, and meeting international standards.
Berdimuhamedov also highlighted the need for the construction of ring race tracks with complex tracks to host various auto and motor sports competitions. He personally tested a new sports car on a challenging route through the Karakum Desert, urging the use of environmentally friendly sand mined from the construction site for other projects in the region.
The National Leader stressed the significance of holding sports competitions, including international rallies, and announced plans for large-scale planting to improve environmental conditions in the region. He reiterated the role of sports in fostering a healthy and spiritually developed society, particularly among the youth.
Overall, the development of motor sports in Turkmenistan underlines the importance of promoting a healthy lifestyle and encouraging sports activities among the population. The new Motor Sports Center is poised to become a hub for nurturing talent and advancing the country’s presence in the international sports arena.
