
Kılıçdaroğlu urges voters to cast their ballots in spring weather

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the Chairman of Turkey’s opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), and presidential candidate of the Nation Alliance, gathered with leaders of alliance partner parties at a rally in Ankara’s Tandoğan Square. Before Kılıçdaroğlu addressed the crowd, leaders such as Ali Babacan of DEVA Party, Meral Akşener of IYI Party, Temel Karamollaoğlu of Felicity Party, Gültekin Uysal of Democrat Party, Ekrem İmamoğlu, Istanbul’s Metropolitan Mayor and Mansur Yavaş, Ankara Metropolitan Mayor, spoke. Akşener gave the microphone to veteran Hüseyin Özlük, one of the founders of IYI Party, who said, “There will be no terrorists from us, Ankara will be from us.” He also highlighted the hypocrisy of those who label them as terrorists due to their support for the Nation Alliance but have themselves sat with terrorists and made deals with them in the past.
Kılıçdaroğlu promised to work for Turkey and fight together for its people. He pledged to bring democracy through democratic means, especially since the youth and women in the country will democratically change an authoritarian government. He congratulated Ankara’s Metropolitan Mayor for his efforts to make Ankara Mustafa Kemal’s Ankara, and he vowed to make all of Turkey Mustafa Kemal’s Turkey.
Kılıçdaroğlu also emphasized ballot box security and urged the public to vote in spring weather, promising that he will find the killers of Sinan Ateş and bring them to justice once elected. He rejected the idea of living in palaces and vowed to live like every other Turkish citizen and share their joys and sorrows. The rally ended with folk songs and play airs, and Kılıçdaroğlu’s promise to go to Mustafa Kemal’s Çankaya Mansion, where he will live like the people and make it a modest people’s mansion.
