Presidential Candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu Promises to Change Turkey’s Foreign Policy
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, Presidential Candidate of the Nation Alliance, has promised to change Turkey’s foreign policy if he wins the election. During an interview with DW Turkish before a rally in Bolu, Kılıçdaroğlu said, “We will change Turkey’s relations 180 degrees. We will apply the democratic rules of the European Union. Our direction will be Western civilization.”
Kılıçdaroğlu also touched upon relations with Russia, stating that while the invasion of Ukraine was unfair, it is still necessary to maintain good relations with Russia.
The CHP leader also addressed the issue of the detention of Osman Kavala, Presidential Candidate of the Nation Alliance, and former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş. He stated that there are already judicial decisions for their release and that these decisions must be implemented. Kılıçdaroğlu emphasized that no one should be imprisoned for their thoughts, which is the main goal of his party.
In addition to foreign policy and human rights issues, Kılıçdaroğlu emphasized the need to eliminate income distribution disorder, especially for young people. He expressed confidence that the Nation Alliance will win the election in the first round, citing indications from the fields.
If elected, Kılıçdaroğlu’s promises of change in foreign policy and human rights issues will be closely watched both nationally and internationally.
