“Kremlin Spokesperson: Putin’s Schedule Unaffected After Attack”
On May 1, an attempt was made to attack the Kremlin Palace in Russia with two UAVs, but they were neutralized before any harm was done. The Kremlin spokesperson, Dmitriy Peskov, assured the public that the Victory Day ceremony, scheduled for May 9, will proceed as planned, with President Putin attending. When asked about Putin’s whereabouts after the attack, Peskov said the president was not in the Kremlin Palace at the time and was currently working at his residence in Novo Ogaryovo.
However, Ukraine has denied any involvement in the attack, and spokespersons for the Ukrainian president have reaffirmed that the country is only focused on defending its own territory, not attacking others. Instead, they believe that Russia is preparing for a large-scale terrorist attack and using these allegations as a pretext to justify future attacks on Ukrainian cities, civilians, and infrastructure.
In addition, a sound bomb attack was carried out on Russia’s consulate in Finland on the night of April 30 to May 1. According to the spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mariya Zakharova, the consulate building was materially damaged and a threat to the lives of personnel was created. Russia has called on the Finnish authorities to bring those responsible to justice and ensure the safety of their consular staff in the Aland Islands.
