KTMMOB Chamber of Civil Engineers (IMO) Participates in 80th ECCE General Assembly

The KTMMOB Chamber of Civil Engineers (IMO) recently attended the 80th European Civil Engineers Council (ECCE) General Assembly, which took place on March 20-22.

Representatives from the IMO, including President Abdullah Ekinci and Secretary General Ahmed Erkmen, were present at the event. During the assembly, various topics related to the civil engineering sector were discussed, including professional ethics, responsibilities of engineers after natural disasters, and sustainable construction practices.

At the opening of the meeting, representatives from ECCE Platoas Stylianou and Madeira region addressed the participants, highlighting the importance of civil engineers in responding to natural disasters and discussing the future of the profession. The ECCE Manifesto was also discussed, focusing on the development of resilient engineering practices for the future.

President Ekinci created a committee focused on ‘Education, Research, and Information Transfer’ within the scope of ECCE Manifesto, with the aim of furthering these goals. Additionally, a Round Table Meeting was organized during the assembly to address the challenges faced by the Civil Engineering profession and to share insights and experiences from representatives of different countries.
