
KTOEÖS cancels afternoon classes in 18 schools and mobilizes in Famagusta – BRTK

Turkish Cypriot Secondary Education Teachers’ Union (KTOEÖS) has announced that they will not hold afternoon classes in 18 schools due to concerns about students’ safety and the lack of preparation and organization for full-day education. In a statement by KTOEÖS President Selma Eylem, the schools participating in the strike were listed, and parents, parent-teacher associations, and the people of Famagusta were invited to support the action.
According to the statement, students are facing difficult conditions, such as being confined to containers and experiencing a lack of security. KTOEÖS is determined to continue their fight against these issues and ensure that students receive proper education. To demonstrate their commitment, KTOEÖS will gather in front of Namık Kemal High School in Famagusta and hold a march tomorrow at 14.00.
The schools participating in the march include Famagusta Turkish Maarif College, Namık Kemal High School, Çanakkale Secondary School, Canbulat Freedom Secondary School, Famagusta Vocational High School, Famagusta Trade High School, and Doctor Fazıl Küçük Industrial Vocational High School. This demonstration aims to draw attention to the challenges faced by students and the need for proper preparation and organization in the education system.
