KTOEÖS Holds First Meeting After 54th General Assembly – President Selma Eylem Leads Discussions
Selma Eylem has been elected as the new Chairman of the Cyprus Turkish Secondary Education Teachers’ Union (KTOEÖS) during the 54th Ordinary General Assembly. Tahir Gökçebel was also elected as the Secretary General. The newly elected members of the Executive Board held their first meeting where they were officially inducted into their positions. However, shortly after the meeting opened, three Board of Directors members, Ozan Elmalı, Hasan Soyer, and Ali Yaman Işık, submitted their resignation petitions to the board. According to the Union’s statute, the members waiting in line as a result of the election will be invited to duty.
The new members of the Executive Board were determined as follows: “President: Selma Eylem, Secretary General: Tahir Gökçebel, Financial Secretary: Ahmet Karaoğulları, Organization Secretary: Erkan Bulak, Education Secretary: Adnan Zekai. Disciplinary Committee Chairman: Salih Ayyıldız, Disciplinary Committee Secretary: Seçil Toprak. Chairman of the Supervisory Board: Doğan Çakıroğlu.” Under the new leadership, KTOEÖS will continue to work towards improving secondary education for the students of Cyprus.
