KTOEÖS Issues Press Statement at Iskele Turkish Evkaf College
The Cyprus Turkish Secondary Education Teachers Union (KTOEÖS) recently held a press statement in front of İskele Turkish Evkaf College to address concerns about the state of public schools in the region.
During the press statement, KTOEÖS President Selma Eylem expressed worry over the limited time left before schools are set to reopen, highlighting ongoing renovations at schools like İskele Türk Evkaf College. Eylem emphasized that education cannot be effectively provided in such conditions, and called for immediate action to address the situation.
Additionally, Eylem pointed out shortages in teacher and school administration staff, stressing the need for adequate resources to ensure a successful academic year.
Furthermore, KTOEÖS Secretary General Tahir Gökçebel shared that education will have to be conducted in 250 container classrooms during the upcoming academic year. Gökçebel raised concerns about the use of container classrooms, suggesting that the money spent on them could instead be utilized to construct permanent school buildings.
