Lacroix Holds Meeting with CMP Members
United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, Jean-Pierre Lacroix, paid a visit to the Committee on Missing Persons (CMP) today. The purpose of the visit was to discuss and learn about the Committee’s bi-communal activities and to express gratitude for the continued support of the United Nations in their humanitarian work.
In a statement released by the Committee, it was highlighted that CMP members provided Lacroix with a detailed briefing on their activities. The Committee, comprised of individuals from both communities, works tirelessly to address the issue of missing persons in Cyprus. The CMP has been undertaking extensive excavations, exhumations, and identifications across the island, making significant progress in resolving the fate of the missing.
