Lake Balaton Cultural Festival: A Gathering for Book, Wine, and Jazz Enthusiasts

The annual Book-Wine-Jazz festival in Balatonfüred, located on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, is set to take place from June 12-16, offering a variety of cultural and entertainment events for visitors. Organized by László Cserép, the festival will feature book launches, literary discussions, open-air concerts, and more.

One of the highlights of the festival will be a three-thousand-volume book convoy stationed at the Kisfaludy Stage, where authors will be available to sign their works. Hungarian authors such as Janka Fábián and Anna Karády, known for their romantic historical novels, will be in attendance. Additionally, a special literature lesson will be presented during the festival.

Jazz music will be played daily on the open-air stages in the Vaszary Garden and on Blaha Lujza Street. Visitors can also enjoy wine pavilions, book stalls, and catering outlets throughout the festival grounds. There will be activities for all ages, including children’s activities and wine tasting for adults.

In addition to wine tasting, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the book “Fruits and Practices from the Fairy Garden” written by Lajos Ambrus and Gyula Kovács. Renowned winemaker Mihály Figula will be in conversation with the authors during the festival.

All events at the Book-Wine-Jazz festival are free to attend, but some programs, such as wine tasting, may require registration. Don’t miss out on this exciting cultural event at Lake Balaton’s northern shore.
