Last Minute: 4.6 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Adıyaman
An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale hit the Çelikhan district of Adıyaman on May 8, 2023, according to data from the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD). The epicenter of the earthquake was in Adıyaman, and it occurred at a depth of 8.64 kilometers. The earthquake was felt in surrounding districts, but the first determinations indicate that there was no adverse event resulting from the earthquake.
In a statement on social media, AFAD President Yunus Sezer stated that field scanning works are continuing, and there is no negative situation as of now. He also wished for the citizens in the region to get well soon.
