The Chairman of the Supreme Election Council (YSK), Ahmet Yener, has made statements regarding the results of the Presidential and Deputy General Elections held in Turkey. Yener thanked the staff of the institution who worked tirelessly throughout the selection process, and also expressed gratitude to the chairmen of provincial and district election boards, election personnel and public officials.

According to Yener, the participation rate for the domestic election stood at 88.92 percent, with all domestic ballot boxes being opened by 100 percent. However, the participation rate abroad was only 52.99 percent with 35,874 votes still being counted.

As per the initial and uncertain results, Recep Tayyip Erdogan received 49.51 percent of the vote, followed by Kılıçdaroğlu with 44.88 percent and Ogan with 5.47 percent. However, taking into account the 35,874 votes given to Erdogan as of 15:15, it was seen that Kılıçdaroğlu received 49.54 percent of the votes, and Erdogan received 44.85 percent. Due to this, no candidate was able to reach the required eligibility.

As a result, it has been announced that a second round of elections will be held on May 28th. People are eagerly awaiting the results of the upcoming elections, and are curious to see who will be elected as the next President of Turkey.
