Last-Minute Chaos: Some KPSS Candidates Make It, Some Miss by Seconds

The Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS) took place today, organized by ÖSYM. The exam was held in 81 provinces and 105 exam centers in Nicosia. Security measures were strictly implemented during the 130-minute exam, which consisted of 120 questions, 60 each from general skills and general culture.

In Istanbul, two women were not allowed to enter the exam center at Avcılar Abdulkadir Uztürk Secondary School because they were wearing earrings. Another candidate who arrived at the school at the last minute and showed the exam entrance document on their mobile phone was also denied entry. At Sabancı 50th Year İnşa High School, two candidates realized they were in the wrong school just a minute before the exam and were unable to take the test. However, a candidate who dropped their identity card in the schoolyard was able to retrieve it before the exam began.

Some candidates arrived with their spouses and children, and they expressed their well wishes to their children before the exam.

In Sivas, those who arrived early formed long queues in front of the exam buildings at Sivas Cumhuriyet University (SCU). As the exam time approached, officials warned the candidates to enter the buildings. Just minutes before the doors closed, several candidates hurriedly made it inside. However, those who were one minute late after the doors were closed were not allowed to enter. One candidate claimed they were waiting at a different entrance to the Faculty of Letters building but was still denied entry despite their insistence.

In Sakarya, a candidate arrived after the doors were closed at Martyr Erol Olçok Anatolian High School. Despite all their efforts, they were not admitted and left by saying “Health”.

After the first session of the exam, which ended at 12:25, the Educational Sciences session began at 14:45, giving candidates 100 minutes to answer 80 questions.

Similar scenes were witnessed in Eskişehir, where late candidates rushed to the exam halls. Many candidates managed to enter the building at the last minute, but those who arrived after the doors were closed were unable to take the exam.

In Gaziantep, a young man panicked, thinking he was running late for the exam. He asked a shopkeeper for directions to the school where the exam was taking place, and the shopkeeper guided him to Gaziantep Hasan Ali Yücel Anatolian High School, ensuring the candidate arrived just 30 seconds before the exam started.

Overall, the KPSS exam had moments of stress and urgency for some candidates, as they raced against time to make it to their respective exam centers.
