Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a joint press conference with Croatia Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic Radman in Ankara, where he made several important statements. Fidan emphasized the ongoing cooperation between Türkiye and Croatia and expressed concern over certain countries making provocative moves that increase tensions.
Fidan reiterated Türkiye’s full support for the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina and called for a cooperative compromise to address regional challenges. He stated, “As Türkiye, we are ready to do whatever we can to contribute to peace and stability in the region.”
The Foreign Minister also discussed the Russian-Ukrainian war with his Croatian counterpart, highlighting Türkiye’s commitment to maintaining open dialogue and offering assistance towards finding a peaceful resolution. Fidan stressed the importance of addressing Europe’s security architecture issues in a sustainable manner that includes Türkiye’s participation.
On the Palestinian issue, Fidan announced that Türkiye will continue its dialogue with regional countries and stand united against any plans that may harm the Palestinian people.
In a separate interview with Financial Times, Fidan addressed the fight against DAESH, stating that even in the event of a US withdrawal, Türkiye remains committed to combating the terrorist group.
