Launch of International Letter Writing Competition Applications
PTT AŞ Announces International Letter Writing Competition for Young People
PTT AŞ, under the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, has announced the 53rd International Letter Writing Competition organized by the Universal Postal Union (UPU). The competition aims to keep the tradition of letter writing alive among young people aged 9-15.
This year’s theme is “Write a letter to future generations about the world you hope they will inherit.” Letters can be written in Turkish, English, or French and should not exceed 800 words.
To participate in the competition, letter holders must submit their current passport photographs, the letter they wrote, and other required documents in an envelope with their name and surname information to PTT AŞ. Detailed information on the application process can be found on the PTT AŞ website.
Candidates can send their letters from PTT workplaces to the specified address in Ankara by April 19. The selected letter will represent Turkey in the International Letter Writing Competition.
The first-place winner in Turkey will receive 5 thousand liras and a personal stamp, the second-place winner will receive 3 thousand liras and a personal stamp, and the third-place winner will receive 2 thousand liras and a personal stamp. Results will be announced on the PTT AŞ website and social media accounts in May.
International jury members will evaluate the letters from each country and select the top three. The winners will receive gold, silver, and bronze medals, along with certificates. The gold medal winner will be invited to the UPU Headquarters in Switzerland.
After evaluating letters from UPU member countries, the competition results will be announced in October. Special mention award winners will also receive certificates and other awards from the UPU.
PTT AŞ encourages young writers to participate in the competition and share their thoughts on the future with the world through the art of letter writing.
