Legendary Dallas Star Bobby Ewing Visits MOL Headquarters
Iconic TV actor Patrick Duffy, known for his role as Bobby Ewing in the popular series Dallas, recently visited Budapest to film a commercial for MOL, one of the region’s largest oil companies. The commercial pays homage to a 1993 MOL commercial featuring Larry Hagman, who played Duffy’s brother on the show.
The Dallas series, which first aired in 1978 and later in Hungary in 1990, captivated audiences with the contrasting personalities of the Ewing brothers. Despite the passage of time, Patrick Duffy’s charm and charisma as an actor remain unchanged, as noted in the MOL statement.
The new commercial, a playful and nostalgic sequel to the old one, humorously references the rivalry between the characters and their past interactions. While steeped in Hungarian culture, the creators ensured authenticity by sourcing Bobby’s hat from Dallas, Texas.
