Man Found Dead In Forested Area In Sancaktepe
A family who was out in the forested area of Sancaktepe collecting mushrooms made a terrifying discovery when they stumbled upon the body of a man whose hands and feet were tied. The gendarmerie were immediately notified and an investigation was launched. Through the investigation, it was determined that the body belonged to 40-year-old Semih Sevim.
Further into the investigation, it was discovered that Semih Sevim had last met with his ex-girlfriend, 25-year-old Seçil Çiftçi. Seçil was taken into custody and during her interrogation, admitted to killing Semih Sevim and taking him to the forested area with the help of her father. The father and daughter were subsequently arrested and a lawsuit was filed against them for “premeditated murder”.
At the hearing held at the Istanbul 19th High Criminal Court, Seçil Çiftçi stated that she was acting in self-defense at the time of the incident and demand her release. Semih Sevim’s mother also addressed the court, refuting the allegations of her son being obsessed and stating that he was being used by the defendant.
The court decided to continue the defendant’s detention and further investigate by sending photographs and an autopsy report to the Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the cause of death, the influence of drugs, and how the wounds were caused.
The shocking incident has gripped the region and the court has vowed to leave no stone unturned in determining the truth in this tragic case. The family of Semih Sevim continues to seek justice for their loved one as they cope with the aftermath of the devastating loss.
