Life-Changing Miracle: Baby’s 380 gram Hira Su Hug
A miraculous story of survival unfolded at Mersin City Training and Research Hospital as a premature baby defied the odds to thrive and survive. Faike Ateş, a resident of Erdemli district, sought medical help at the hospital in the 26th week of her pregnancy. She gave birth to a baby girl, Hira Su, who weighed only 380 grams and measured 25 cm long.
Hira Su was immediately placed in the newborn intensive care unit, where she was cared for in an incubator for 155 days. Through the dedicated efforts of the medical team, the tiny baby gradually gained weight and strength, eventually reaching a weight of 2.1 kilograms. After completing her treatment, Hira Su was finally discharged from the hospital, much to the joy of her family.
Dr. Mustafa Akçalı, a newborn specialist at the hospital, praised the strong will and resilience of Hira Su, stating that in the past, babies born at such low weights were not expected to survive.
