Lightning Strikes Spark Storm in Adana and Osmaniye, Destroying Forests
Severe weather conditions hit several districts in Adana, causing chaos and damage to the area. Showers and storms lashed Kadirli, Osmaniye, and Kozan at noon, leading to flooded streets and roads. Drivers found it challenging to navigate through the affected areas due to the heavy rain and strong winds.
In Kadirli, trees on the streets and telephone poles in Tepecikören Neighborhood were knocked down by the storm. Additionally, the wind blew off the roof of a house in Şevkiye Neighborhood. Hail also struck Akdam Neighborhood, adding to the already chaotic situation.
On the other hand, forest fires erupted in Adana’s Sarıçam district, particularly Kösefakılı and Feke district, Belenköy neighborhoods due to lightning strikes. The Forestry Regional Directorate and fire department teams promptly responded to the fires. They managed to bring the fire in Kösefakılı neighborhood under control quickly, while the fire in Belenköy was reported to be surrounded and mostly under control.
In a separate incident in Diyarbakır, tragic news emerged as the lifeless body of young Narin Güran was discovered. The details of her death were chilling, as Governor Murat Zorluoğlu revealed that her body was found hidden in a sack, covered with stones.
