Limassol resistance: commemorating the martyrs
The Turkish Cypriot community will gather on February 13 to commemorate the resistance of the people in Limassol between 10-13 February 1964. This event will honor those who fell martyrs during the struggle for existence.
The Kyrenia District Governorship announced that the commemoration ceremony will take place at 10.00 at the Limassol-Kyrenia Martyrs and Freedom Monument. The ceremony will begin with the presentation of wreaths to the monument, followed by the raising of flags accompanied by a moment of silence and the National Anthem.
The event will also include the reading of poems and speeches, serving as a solemn tribute to the brave individuals who sacrificed their lives for the Turkish Cypriot cause.
This ceremony will provide an opportunity for the community to come together and reflect on the resilience and determination demonstrated by the Turkish Cypriot people during a challenging period in their history. It will also serve as a reminder of the sacrifices made in the pursuit of freedom and self-determination.
