Health Minister Hakan Dinçyürek Visits Medical Waste Disposal Unit at Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital
Health Minister Hakan Dinçyürek recently visited the Medical Waste Disposal Unit at Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital to inspect the facilities. According to a statement released by the Ministry, Minister Dinçyürek expressed satisfaction with the maintenance and repair work that had been completed in 2018, allowing the unit to resume its operations on January 1, 2025.
Minister Dinçyürek highlighted the importance of the unit in disposing of medical waste generated by both Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital and Emergency Hospital. He stated that the unit is currently operating at full capacity, processing between 8 and 10 cycles of medical waste per day. Dinçyürek also stated that their goal is to expand the unit’s capacity in order to manage the disposal of all medical waste generated throughout the island.
During his visit, Minister Dinçyürek expressed his gratitude towards the Chief Physician and Ministry officials who have contributed to the operations of the Medical Waste Disposal Unit. The Minister’s visit underscores the government’s commitment to proper medical waste management and ensuring the safety of healthcare facilities in the region.
