The Lost Cultural Heritage Symposium: What You Need to Know

The first of the workshops to be held within the scope of the Lost Cultural Heritage Symposium took place under the instruction of Birgül Feyzioğlu, wife of Turkey’s Ambassador to Nicosia Metin Feyzioğlu. The symposium aims to strengthen the perception of protecting cultural heritage and draw attention to the cultural heritage at risk.

Several institutions such as the Republic of Turkey Embassy in Nicosia, Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Culture, and others are working together to organize the symposium. The event will feature many academics and researchers who are experts in their fields and will focus on interactive studies in Polyphonic Motifs of Cultures workshops.

The symposium will also include a variety of workshops such as experimental printing workshop, on-site sculpture firing activity, and Cultural Heritage Awareness Workshop. The event aims to provide participants with hands-on experiences to understand the life of the period and the materials used in ancient times, as well as to highlight the sustainability of cultural assets and cultural heritage.

Birgül Feyzioğlu conducted the first workshop titled “Cultural Ambassadors at Work” under the theme of Museum Education for Cultural Heritage Awareness. She mentioned that the study included critical thinking and question methods through the Troy epic and aimed to raise awareness about the concept of cultural heritage.

The ‘Vanished Cultural Heritage Symposium’ will be hosted by Acapulco Resort Convention Spa Hotel on 22-23 February 2024. The event is organized by TRNC National Archives and Research Department, Cultural Heritage Preservation and Research Association (KÜMAD), and Alashia Terracotta Art Society.

This symposium will provide a platform for discussions, sharing of experiences, and collaborations aimed at the protection and research of cultural heritage. The participation of experts from relevant fields will contribute to strengthening the perception of the importance of safeguarding cultural assets.
