Luxury Car Robbery and Escape in Eskişehir
A 24-year-old individual in Eskişehir, Turkey, was apprehended by police after stealing a commercial taxi and a luxury car at knifepoint while under the influence of drugs.
The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. when the suspect, identified as Kaan Ali E., stopped a taxi on Gaffar Okkan Street in Tunalı District and fled the scene after threatening the driver with a knife. Police launched an investigation after the taxi driver reported the incident. The hijacked taxi was later found abandoned on Muhsin Ertuğrul Street in Sümer District, with the suspect fleeing in the stolen luxury car with license plate 26 SA 626.
Following instructions from Eskişehir Police Chief Yaman Ağırlar, authorities set up checkpoints throughout the city to apprehend the suspect. After a brief chase, the police managed to capture the suspect in Akcami Neighborhood. Kaan Ali E. was taken to the hospital for a health check, which confirmed the presence of drugs in his system. He was then handed over to the Odunpazarı District Police Department.
The stolen vehicles, a commercial taxi with plate number 26 T 0023 and a luxury car with plate number 26 SA 626, were returned to their rightful owners by the police. The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of driving under the influence and the importance of swift police action in ensuring public safety.
