Major Road Renovation Begins on Hungarian-Romanian Border
The Hungarian-Romanian border area is set to see major improvements in its road infrastructure, with upgrades scheduled to begin in the coming weeks. According to government official Levente Magyar, the project will involve improving 20 road sections in the region.
Both Hungary and Romania are eager to enhance their border connections, with Romania also aiming to join the Schengen area. The construction of the M49, the third motorway linking the two countries, is already in progress, and preparations are being made for the M44 that will connect Békéscsaba and Nagyvárad.
In addition to these major highways, smaller roads between border towns that have been neglected for years will also be renovated as part of the project. This initiative aims to improve transportation and connectivity in the region, benefiting both Hungarian and Romanian residents.
