Man arrested for wounding girlfriend and killing mother in Esenyurt
A tragic incident took place on Saturday, April 12th at 19:30 in the Suleymaniye Neighborhood on 740th Street. In a 5-storey building, a violent altercation occurred in the basement that resulted in a mother losing her life and her daughter being seriously injured.
The suspect, identified as Hasan E., allegedly got into a heated argument with his girlfriend, Melisa NG, for reasons unknown. During the altercation, Hasan E. reportedly wounded his girlfriend with a knife and then struck the girlfriend’s mother on the head with a hard object. The attack was so severe that the mother, Sevda Gül, tragically lost her life.
After fleeing the scene, the attacker was reported to the 112 Emergency Call Center by witnesses who heard the commotion. Health and police teams quickly arrived at the scene, where they determined that the mother had passed away and the suspect’s girlfriend was in critical condition. The injured girlfriend was promptly transported to the hospital for urgent medical attention.
Footage from the building’s security cameras captured the moments leading up to the incident, allowing police teams to swiftly apprehend the suspect, Hasan E. The suspect was taken into police custody and subsequently arrested by the court, before being sent to prison.
The community is left shocked and saddened by this senseless act of violence, as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic event. Sevda Gül’s body has been taken to the morgue for an autopsy, pending further examination by the prosecutor.
