“Man Assaults Lover After Receiving Rejection for Relationship Request, Woman Shares Account of Shame”

A university student in Turkey has been accused of assaulting her boyfriend after he turned down her advances. The incident happened on April 30 in the İncivez district of the city. The girlfriend, named only as MA, allegedly made a sexual advance towards her partner, identified as AA. When he refused, the couple argued and the situation escalated into MA insulting and cursing at AA before squeezing his arm. Police were called to the scene and AA reported the incident as an assault. MA was later called to the police station, where she said she had only held her partner’s wrist to protect herself. Both parties have filed complaints against each other.
The incident has drawn attention on social media platforms in Turkey, with AA uploading photographs of bruises on his arm and wrist to show the injuries he sustained. He also wrote a post in which he stated that he would not remain silent against coercion and harassment. The case is ongoing, but the incident highlights that domestic violence can occur between parties of any gender.
