British Daredevil Climbs 123-story Skyscraper with Bare Hands
A 24-year-old British man has climbed the 123-story Lotte World Tower in Seoul, South Korea, using only his bare hands. The Songpa Fire Department released a video showing the man scaling the building’s facade. He was later taken into the building using a maintenance sled on the 73rd floor.
The police have detained the climber for questioning and have not issued a statement on the matter. Reports from the Chosun Ilbo newspaper named the person in question as George King-Thompson. British media reports indicate that Thompson was arrested and jailed for climbing the Shard building in London in 2019.
While daring stunts can draw attention, climbing skyscrapers without proper equipment or permits is incredibly dangerous and can put both the climber and rescue workers at risk. Authorities urge people not to attempt such stunts and to respect the safety regulations put in place to prevent accidents.
